Is Scar Tissue your Achilles Heel?
Scar Tissue: The leading cause of Overuse Injuries resulting from chronic irritation to a body part

Often Soft-Tissue Injuries are overlooked…when a strain occurs to muscles an inflammatory response develops; the initial tear might be too small to cause discomfort. However, once the initial tear has occurred, a cycle of repair and re-injury and re-inflammation develops that leads ultimately to the large tender knot…which will inevitably compromise muscle fibers surrounded by inflammatory or restrictive scar tissue (Lore of Running).

Staying active and injury free is a key component to health, happiness, having more energy, optimism, creativity and reaching your goals. There is always an important lesson to be learned when injured, and often we can bounce back with increased vigor and determination. However, an injury(or chronic problem) not actively treated can often linger on and cause a negative set back which can turn into frustration, despair, decreased performance, depressed feelings, unhealthy choices and unwanted results.
